Overweight Cat (9 years old)
I have switched my "Sassys food to science diet adult light because she has been gaining weight over the last month. She has gone from 15 lbs to 17 lbs even on this food. I give her what is recommended on the bag.Is there something else I could be doing ? Thanks , Jacquie
My answer:
Hi Jacquie, sorry to hear of your problem with your cats weight.
Firstly have you been to a vet to have your cat checked? It is always best to be sure that there is nothing causing the weight gain over the last month other than her food intake.
You might like to slowly introduce good quality 'wet food' or even raw food over the next few weeks. For help introducing this change in diet and the benefits that many others have discovered with feeding in this way I recommend www.Catnutrition.org website and forum.
For further reading on my own website these homemade cat food pages might be interesting since they concern dry diets and wet food diets.
All the best with your Sassy and her diet.
